This painting has an altogether different feeling to it. It is hard to see as it was fixed to a lamp post well above my height but the painting has a board support onto which some collage has been added. This has then been painted on. What I like about this one is the movement in the water and sky along with the use of accurate colours. The sky really does capture the weather over this weekend, a mish mash of blues and greys that changed minute by minute. The water expresses the depth but also the sea breeze making it gently undulate. The colour palette is highly accurate and shows how the buildings paintwork create a ‘european’ feel around the marina. But I have to say my favourite bit of the painting are the cheeky glimpses of printed collage under the painting. It gives it all an extra depth.
